Wilmington murder suspect turns himself into police
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington police say a murder suspect turned himself into authorities Monday afternoon.
Quaymir Conyers, 18, was wanted for first degree murder in the death of Parish McNeil, 31.
Police found McNeil shot when they responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1100 block of Campbell Street on Sunday. McNeil was pronounced dead at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Detectives believe this was an isolated incident and say the suspect was related to the victim.
WPD says he will be transported to the New Hanover County Jail where he will most likely be held without bond pending his first appearance on Tuesday in District Court.
This is the first homicide in Wilmington in 2021.
