Suspected Carolina Beach shooter held on $25 million bond

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A man is in custody after police say he opened fire in a Carolina Beach neighborhood yesterday afternoon.

According to jail records, Thomas Henry Coulson, 21, is being held on a $25 million dollar bond in the New Hanover County Jail. Coulson faces three charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

According to an e-mail from the town, law enforcement officers responded to the 1600 block of Sea Ray Lane for a call of shots fired. Carolina Beach Police Chief Chris Spivey said that when officers arrives, more shots were fired from what seemed to be a rifle. Crews quickly blocked traffic and got neighbors out of the way.
