Suspended Ashley JROTC instructor returns to work

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Chief Thomas Frost, the Ashley High School JROTC instructor placed on paid administrative leave after making a comment on social media that some deemed racist, returned to work last week according to a district spokeswoman.

New Hanover County Schools spokeswoman Valita Quattlebaum said Frost returned to work, as the head of the school’s JROTC program, Wednesday.

He was suspended with pay Sept. 13 after school officials were notified of a comment the 23-year U.S. Navy veteran allegedly made on Facebook beneath a story about a recent fatal shooting in Creekwood.
