TA facing charges after middle school fight

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Columbus County deputies say a Nakina Middle School teacher’s assistant is facing charges for getting involved in a middle school fight. They say 30-year-old Joseph Thompson heard a white kid call a black kid a racial slur.

They say the teacher bet the black student $10.00 he would not hit the white student but the student did. The student is charged with assault. Thompson was arrested for aiding and abetting an assault and for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
