Tabor City man accused of shooting at several people, including ex-girlfriend

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Tabor City man faces charges after he spotted his ex-girlfriend at a home with another man and began shooting, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.

Mitchell James Fowler, 27, faces several charges including assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and discharging a weapon into occupied property.

Investigators say on Monday, Fowler was at a home on Smith Avenue in Tabor City when he spotted his ex-girlfriend with another man at a home on Lavernes Drive and began shooting.

The Sheriff’s Office says another man and woman were also at the home at the time.

Fowler allegedly fired several shots with a rifle and hit the home numerous times.

Fowler was arrested at the home on Smith Ave.

He is being held under a $25,000 bond.

No one got hurt.
