Tabor City man faces several trespassing and drug charges
TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) – A Tabor City man is facing several drug charges.
Tabor City police say they received a tip that Courtney Scott, 24, was at Live Oak Street and had at least 12 warrants for his arrest.
Police say say Scott was in a car behind former Senator R.C. Soles’s office, but he jumped out of the car and started running when police arrived.
Chief Dowless said officers ran after Scott and caught him about a half-mile away. Scott was maced during the chase. Police say Scott asked to be seen by a doctor, so he was taken to the ER for a breathing treament before being taken to the Columbus County jail.
Scott faces several charges including possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a place for use/storage/sell of a controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture/sell, driving with a license revoked, assault with a deadly weapon, second degree trespassing on R.C. Soles’s property and several failure to appear charges.
Scott is in the Columbus County jail under a $588,000 bond.
