Tabor City man robbed at gunpoint by two men, including ‘friend’


COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report of an armed robbery on Jamaica Queens Road in Tabor City.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says the 64-year-old victim told them that a ‘friend’ contacted him for a ride to a relative’s house.

While on Jamaica Queens Road, an unidentified armed man appeared from the woods.

The ‘friend’ and unidentified male reportedly held the victim at gunpoint and demanded money.

He gave them $390.

No word on how the suspects left the scene.
