Take the Polar Plunge and help Special Olympics
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — This Saturday crowds will gather at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk for the 12th Annual Special Olympics Polar Plunge.
Join hundreds who will be freezin’ for a reason as they jump into the Atlantic ocean wearing only a bathing suit!
The event raises money for year round help for the more than than 600 athletes that compete in the Special Olympics in New Hanover County.
Festivities kick off at 11 and include music, an auction, a 5K Walk/Run and even a costume contest.
It all culminates with the plunge at 3 p.m..
