Tanks shipped through Port of Wilmington, headed to Africa
WILMINGTON, NC (Star News) — A shipload of tanks were loaded onto a ship at the Port of Wilmington on Monday, destined for northern Africa.
The tanks rolled into Wilmington Thursday by train and were loaded onto the ship Integrity, which is based in Wilmington, Delaware. The 48 armored vehicles are scheduled to be shipped to Morocco, ports spokeswoman Bethany Welch said.
“NC Ports offers roll-on/roll-off options at both the Port of Wilmington & the Port of Morehead City. Here’s a great example, a (roll on/roll off) vessel is currently docked in Wilmington and being loaded with tanks!” the N.C. State Ports Authority tweeted Monday, showing a photo of a tank driving onto a ship at the port.
