Taylor’s serves up inaugural menu

How about tickling your political palate? Taylor’s restaurant in Southport was geared up for an inauguration lunch on Tuesday.

Jonathan Spence ate lunch at Taylor’s and said, “I had the ‘let’s make a change’ sandwich, and it was awesome. It was a surf and turf sandwich, with a cream sauce, and it was to die for.”

On Election Day, customers at Taylor’s had to choose between the McCain Grinder, or the Obama Burger. Now that Obama is officially the president, Karen Taylor said she is happy to bring the Obama Burger back on her inauguration menu. “We brought back the Obama Burger, because it did so well, and he did so well in the election.”

Taylor made sure to include the Joe Biden Soup, an inauguration salad, and a kids menu in honor of Sasha and Malia.

Narcia Levis of Southport said, “I like the fact that not only did Obama get sighted here with the Obama Burger, but also his wife and two children.”

Aside from the food, diners made the trek to Taylor’s to watch what everyone is calling a day to remember.

The owner’s of Taylor’s say creating menus for major events like Election Day and inaugurations is something that may become a tradition at their restaurant.
