Teacher of the Week: Angelica Hicks

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — Two decades in the classroom and the better part of it spent in the Second Grade. Angelica Hicks says a lot has changed in twenty years.

She teaches at Castle Hayne Elementary and says she hopes to make a difference in “even one person’s life”. Hicks tells us, though a lot has changed in 20 years, as a teacher her expectations have not.

No matter what she wants her students to know,  “That they’re loved and no matter what you know any of those hard things in life, those things happen, but they can with all the tools that hopefully we’ve given them that they will be successful in life.”

Ms. Hicks was nominated by a grandparent who says she has never seen a teacher more dedicated to her students.
