Teacher of the Week: Katie O’Neil

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — For more than thirty years, South Brunswick High School art teacher Katie O’Neil has been teaching her students through an artist’s eyes.

The Teacher of the Week uses art to break down barriers and cliques and to teach life lessons.

One of her favorite lessons is to remind students when a piece breaks they should just say ‘Oh well!’

Her motto is that what you learn with pleasure you remember and she strives to have fun with her students everyday.

Ms. O’Neil creates an environment for learning where students become both artists and better people.
