Teacher of the Week: Melissa Lane

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With a focus on learning, good manners and a lot of fun Melissa Lane shows her fourth graders at Acme Delco Elementary School that everyone can do what they set their mind to do.

Using games, dancing and a family-like atmosphere, Ms. Lane pulls the best out of her students, but she says she is not in teaching for the accolades.

She says she just wants “to do something that helps somebody else.”

Her goal as a teacher is to make sure her students know: “the word can’t is not allowed”.
