Teacher of the Week: Ronda Watts

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) —  In her 28 years as a teacher Ronda Watts says that many things have changed, except for the children and that’s what she thinks is the best part of teaching.

She is a native of Southport who decided her life’s goal was to teach kids in the town she loves and now finds joy in the faces of current and former students.

Hanging on a wall in her classroom is her motto:  No one is perfect that’s why pencils have erasers.

It’s something she teaches her students as she reminds them that mistakes are learning opportunities.

Her second grade classroom is filled with the love of acceptance and learning.

It’s a feeling Mrs. Watts wants her students to carry with them through the rest of their lives.
