Teacher of the Week: Tianna Buie

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) —  Tianna Buie is an inspiration to all her students at West Brunswick High School, but for one in particular she means the world.

Her student Katie says “Ms. Buie means the world to me.”

Ms. Buie says: “I don’t do this for any kind of accolade.  It’s just what I do.  To hear feedback from a student that I mean so much to is just overwhelming.”

Despite dealing with a host of personal issues involving her husband, Ms. Buie continued to come to class ready to help her students learn.  In the end, it was Ms. Buie who was thanking her students.

“I thank them for helping me get through,” she says.

She also says that what she wants them to know most is that with hard work they can achieve anything.
