Teachers, local relief group work together to help Leland residents

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Port City Volunteer and Disaster Relief partnered with Lincoln Elementary School teachers to host a breakfast and supply pick up site Monday, September 24th.

Coordinator Ray Baca has supported the hurricane relief of Maria, Irma and Harvey, and has been always preparing for the possibility of any disasters that could potentially impact the Port City.

“When we went out to these other places…I was always hoping there would be another little Ray running around getting us stuff and sure enough there’s a guy David that drove down from Virginia,” said Baca.

The group is also stationed at a warehouse in downtown Wilmington on Water Street.
