Teachers prepare for start of school

LELAND — Local teachers used Sunday to prepare before the start of school on Monday.

Norm Melton teaches marketing at North Brunswick High School, where he has worked for 28 years. He spent Sunday putting the final touches on his classroom, in which he will teach three marketing classes and a homeroom.

Melton said the first day of school always brings him an adrenaline rush. “It’s an exciting time, it’s a time I’ve found the teachers are as excited as the students coming in. You get a chance for a new year, a clean slate, the seniors of course have just moved up from being juniors to now the class of ’08, ” he said.

Melton said he has learned the more organized he is before the start of school, the smoother the first day goes.
