Teen charged in Ben Privott murder to be tried as adult

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The teen charged in the deadly stabbing of a Wilmington musician and real estate agent will be tried as an adult.

According to the StarNews, a judge ruled to move the case against Cory Sullivan, 15, to Superior Court. The decision came after two hearings this week. He was previously charged as a juvenile and his identity was withheld from public record.

Sullivan is facing first-degree murder charges in the killing of Ben Privott. Privott was found stabbed to death in his neighborhood in April after not returning from taking out his dog.
