Teen charged in school threat now charged with sexual assault

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Investigators say the teen accused of threatening violence at North Brunswick High School has now been charged in a sexual assault incident involving a female victim under the age of 16.

Leland Police charged Triston Bryan Alderton with felony kidnapping and sexual battery after a victim came forward about the allaged assault. The complaint was made after Alderton’s arrest for the alleged threat made at N. Brunswick earlier this week.

Alderton is currently being held on those charges in the Brunswick County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond. Police say the alleged assault and kidnapping did not occur on school property.
