Teen sentenced for robbing aunt
BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A former West Brunswick High School student will spend at least five years behind bars for robbing his own aunt.
Chasen Duke is one of four teens who has already pleaded guilty to the crime.
Prosecutors say last December Duke and four friends broke into Duke’s aunt’s house near Calabash. That’s when three of them tied her up with duct tape and locked her in the bathroom.
The teens stole about $8,000 from the elderly woman.
Last week former West Brunswick football star Dre Hill and teammates Erik Gore and Charles Hill pleaded guilty and were sentenced to at least five years in prison.
A fifth suspect, Darren Marlowe, is scheduled to go to trial in October.
The victim was not in the courtroom when her nephew was sentenced for robbing her.
