Terps looking for revenge vs Wake Forest, running start in ACC

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — The last time Maryland faced Wake Forest, a trip to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game was on the line.

The Terrapins have a different incentive in the rematch Saturday: revenge and a 1-0 start in the ACC.

Wake Forest beat Maryland 38-24 last November to advance to the ACC title game. The sting of that defeat still lingers with the Terrapins, making this league opener a bit more special than most.

The Demon Deacons lost to Nebraska and league rival Boston College before beating Army last week. Maryland has had to wait three weeks for its first league game.

This one won't decide the ACC title, but it could go a long way toward determining if the Terrapins can repeat their surprising run at the league's Atlantic Division crown.
