Testeverde leads Panthers to victory over Arizona
Four days after coming out of mothballs and signing with the Carolina Panthers, 43-year-old Vinny Testeverde helped lead the Panthers to a 25-to-10 road victory against Arizona.
Testeverde was filling in for an injured David Carr, who took over for the injured Jake Delhomme.
Testaverde hit Steve Smith for a 65-yard scoring pass to extend his NFL record by throwing a touchdown pass for a 21st straight season.
Testaverde said, “A lot of guys stepped up to help us win today. I’m just glad they believed a guy my age could come in and help them win.”
Vinny says last Sunday at game time he was sitting at home watching the Jets and Giants play.
The panthers are now 4-2 on the season.
