Text scam targets Wachovia customers

A text message scam preying on Wachovia bank customers wound up on the phones of two Wilmington Police captains.

The message tells the reader the bank has limited their bank card. It prompts the person to call a phone number with a recording that prompts the caller to enter their bank card number.

Police say the best advice if you get any message like this is to ignore it. Banks do not ask for customer information that way.
