WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Thalian Hall will honor the life and legacy of Wilmington resident Margaret Kerry with free screenings of Disney’s “Peter Pan” (1953) this month.

The screenings will take place on Saturday, July 18, at 1 p.m. and Sunday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at Thalian Hall.

Kerry worked with Walt Disney as the live-action model for Tinker Bell during the creation of the iconic character. Before each screening, attendees will see a previously unreleased video of Kerry introducing the film for a Thalian Hall audience. The video is the last known time Kerry appeared on camera.

Tickets are free and available to the public through Thalian Hall’s website and box office on a first-come, first-served basis. A ticket is required for entry.

Kerry, who lived in Wilmington, died on June 11, 2026, at the age of 97 following a battle with lung cancer. Thalian Hall says it is commissioning a portrait of Kerry that will be displayed in the new Wilde Cat Club.

“Thalian Hall is humbled to honor a beloved member of our artistic community,” said Shane Fernando, CEO of Thalian Hall. “Margaret Kerry had a special relationship with the Hall and was adored by all who knew her.”
