Thalian Hall to host advanced premiere of “The Exorcism”

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The advanced premiere of The Exorcism starring Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe will be held at Thalian Hall.
The movie follows Crowe’s character, Anthony Miller, who is an actor, as he begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film.
A red carpet for the film will include the film’s director, Joshua Miller, who is the son of the actor who played Father Karras in The Exorcist, and Dee Snider, the lead singer of Twisted Sister, and the president of a new North Carolina based production company.
Thalian Hall CEO Shane Fernando said this will be a significant moment for the venue.
“Going through all of our archives, this is the first film ever of this caliber at a national or global release level to have an advanced premiere in Wilmington,” Fernando said. “So we’ve had television series do this in the past. Earliest one that we were able to find is 2013 Under the Dome.”
The premiere at Thalian Hall will be on Wednesday, June 12th.
The National release of the film is June 21st.
