The Wilmington Wine and Chocolate Festival takes over

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — You want some wine with that chocolate? Or vice versa? The Wilmington Wine and Chocolate Festival has you covered!

Winemakers and Chocolatiers from across North Carolina converged for this weekend to promote their businesses by letting you do the taste tests!

Flint Hill Vineyards out of East Bend won in the varietals category for the third year in a row. The owners said they make it a weekend of work and fun. It’s a win win for the business and for Wilmington.

“We actually make this a girl’s weekend for us,” said Brenda Doub, the owner. “What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with wine and chocolate. We get a whole bunch of girlfriends to come down, we work and then we stay for a couple days and relax afterwards.”

The Volunteer Older Citizens Action League Inc. puts on the festival for its biggest fundraiser of the year.

The festival continued through Sunday at the Wilmington Coastline and Convention Center.
