Third group interested in SC’s Hard Rock Park
MYRTLE BEACH — A third group is interested in buying the bankrupt Hard Rock theme park in South Carolina.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported that the new Coastal Entertainment LLC on Monday filed an objection to the proposed sale of the 55-acre theme park to FPI MB Entertainment LLC.
Hard Rock Cafe International also objected to the sale, saying it wants to make sure the license to use its brand name doesn’t automatically transfer to a new owner.
FPI MB Entertainment wants to buy the park for $25 million and wants the sale approved quickly so the park can reopen by Memorial Day.
The $400 million park opened in April and closed in September.
