Three arrested after year-long heroin investigation

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrest three on heroin-related charges.

Deputies said Lamarr McDow, 30, was arrested on Friday on charges including trafficking heroin and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin. The investigation stemmed from an incident in July in the Shallotte area when more than 8,000 bags of heroin was seized. Deputies say McDow is a validated gang member. He’s in jail under a $2,250,000 bond.

Eddie Lee Hill, 27, and Masheka Rena Cobb, 24, were also charged on Friday including conspiring to traffic heroin. Hill, who deputies said is also a validated gang member and habitual felon, is being held under a $200,000 bond. Cobb is being held under at $500,000 bond.

These arrests are the result of a year-long investigation stemming from community complaints and tips. Deputies said the three were arrested after a traffic stop on Friday where over 1,600 bags of heroin, with a street value of approximately $50,000, was seized from the vehicle.
