Three deputies taken to hospital after Columbus County chase

CHADBOURN, NC (WWAY) — Three deputies were hurt during a chase in Columbus County on Monday, March 17.

According to Chadbourn Police, a driver allegedly hit a Columbus County Sheriff’s deputy Ford F-150 truck on Dessie Road around 8:30 p.m.

Three deputies were in the truck at the time of the crash, which caused it to flip over.

They had minor injuries and were taken to Columbus Regional Hospital.

Chadbourn Police say the chase continued toward Chadbourn where it ended with a crash.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol were called to the scene of the second crash, and the driver was taken into custody.
