Three people accused of selling Oxycodone in Columbus County
WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) – Three people are behind bars facing charges related to selling Oxycodone in the Whiteville and Clarendon communities.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit began investigating after receiving complaints about the suspects.
The sheriff’s office says undercover agents bought Oxycodone from Kayla Brooke McPherson and Steven Elbert Edwards on Wednesday at a home on Lebanon Church Road.
The sheriff’s office says Edwards provided McPherson with the prescription pills and she completed the sale.
On Monday, undercover agents bought more Oyxcodone from McPherson and Edwards in the parking lot area of Walmart in Whiteville. Investigators say Sarah Elizabeth Timmons was also in the vehicle with Edwards and McPherson.
After the buy was finished, agents stopped the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office seized additional prescription pills and arrested all three suspects.
26-year-old McPherson is charged with 2 felony counts of selling and/or delivering a schedule II controlled substance. Her bond is set at $50,000.
27-year-old Edwards is charged with 4 felony counts of trafficking opium or heroin and 2 felony counts of selling and/or delivering a schedule II controlled substance. His bond is $150,000.
31-year-old Timmons is charged with 4 felony counts of trafficking opium or heroin. Her bond is $80,000.
