Three people eating at Wilmington park reportedly robbed at gunpoint

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two people, including a teen, have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery at Wilmington park Thursday evening.

The Wilmington Police Department says officers were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. to Nunalee Park, located at 416 S. 17th Street, in reference to an armed robbery.

Three friends were enjoying a meal in the park when they were robbed at gunpoint by a group of men, according to police.

No one was hurt.

Police have taken two of the suspects into custody. One is a juvenile. The other is 20-year-old Dyrell Green, who’s charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Felon, and Robbery with Dangerous Weapon – Conspiracy.

He is being held under an $80,000 secured bond.

This case is still under investigation.
