Thursday UNCW celebrates Teal Day

If you are near the UNCW campus Thursday, you may see a “sea” of teal.

Today the university will celebrate its first Teal Day, and proclaim it as the official school color.

When UNCW was founded in 1947, the original school colors were green and gold. Since that time, teal unofficially has become the school color.

School leaders will unveil a new Spirit Rock on campus and sign the Teal Declaration at 11 a.m. this morning.
