FIRST ON 3: Ticketing closed for Trump’s Wilmington visit
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you haven’t gotten your tickets for Donald Trump’s visit to Wilmington, it looks like you are out of luck.
This afternoon, Trump’s campaign website said ticketing for the event tomorrow at UNCW is closed less than 24 hours after it started. Trump is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m. at Trask Coliseum. UNCW’s College Republicans are hosting the event.
People interested in attending the rally could claim two tickets online on a first-come-first-served basis.
UNCW’s athletic website lists the seating capacity for a basketball game at Trask as 5,200. A Wilmington Fire Department spokesman said the fire marshal will allow a maximum of 6,000 people into the Trump rally.
While a large crowd is expected inside Trask, there could also be a lot of people outside, including protestors, who plan to make their statement on and around campus.
After he speaks in Wilmington, Trump is heading to Fayetteville. This afternoon tickets were still available for his rally at Crown Arena there, which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. tomorrow.
