Tillis, Hagan meet for 2nd NC Senate debate

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC (WWAY) — Democrat Kay Hagan and Republican Thom Tillis face off again tonight in their race for Hagan’s seat in the US Senate.

It’s the second debate between the incumbent and the Speaker of the North Carolina House.

In their first debate last month, Hagan tried to link Tillis to cuts in education in the state and the Republican agenda he has guided as Speaker. Tillis pushed to tie Hagan’s voting record in Washington to President Obama.

The candidates and groups backing them have spent millions of dollars in advertising across North Carolina attacking each other and making this one of it not the most expensive Senate race in the country this fall.
