Titan inches closer to build as they should receive air permit
Titan America is a step closer to building a cement plant in Castle Hayne. The Department of Environmental and Natural Resources has signed off on a draft air quality permit.
The permit comes after an 18-month technical review of the proposed facility, to make sure it complies with state air quality regulations and standards.
A big concern among folks opposed to the plant is the potential for air pollution. The next step in the process is to hold public hearings to discuss the draft air permit.
There will be two hearings on Tuesday, October 20th from 2:00 to 5:00 and then from 6:30 to 9:00 at Cape Fear Community College’s North Campus.
You will need a parking pass, and you can click here to view the draft air quality permit.
