Topping out ceremony for Brunswick Community Hospital
Construction on the new Brunswick Community Hospital paused today for an age old tradition.
The topping out ceremony celebrates the placement of the last and highest beam, marking the end of the most dangerous phase of construction.
Before it was hoisted into place at the peak of the facility, hospital employees, physicians and friends signed the beam.
Hospital executives say the community has a lot to look forward to.
“For the community they can expect a brand new facility, state of the art. And also a lot more space for amenities of just having visitors able to be in their rooms with them, all rooms will be private rooms. Our parking will be easier, access to the facility will be much easier. So it will be a lot more convenient, a lot more accessible, a lot more space,” said President and CEO Denise Mihal.
Construction is expected to finished by the end of next year, and they should be ready to see patients by the summer of 2011.
