Tow trucks, drivers idle to honor one of their own

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tow trucks have been busy this week dealing with icy roads, but today drivers stopped to honor one of their own.

A seemingly never-ending row of tow trucks lined the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington this afternoon. They were there to honor William Earl Chambers, who died Monday. Chambers owned Earl Chambers’ Wrecker service, where he worked alongside his son Mike and his grandson William.

Chambers was 78 years old.
