Town leaders look to solve flooding issue in Leland neighborhood

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — According to town records the retention pond tends to flood at the Front of Lanvale Trace at the intersection of Lanvale Road and Orchard Loop.

Town officials say flooding makes it difficult for people to get in and out of the development.

The town has applied for a grant under the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund to do flood diversion and storage work.

The work is projected to cost about $290,000.
