Town approves Sea Turtle Hospital plan

A new Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital on Topsail Island is one step closer to becoming reality. Last night the Surf City Town Council approved the site plan for a more than 13,000 square foot facility. It will go behind the Surf City Community Center.

Currently the hospital works out of an 850-square-foot facility in Topsail Beach. No word yet on when work on the new hospital will begin.
