Town of Burgaw will discuss expanding zoning jurisdiction beyond corporate limits
The Town of Burgaw Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 900a to discuss expanding its zoning jurisdiction beyond the town’s corporate limits. The move would give the town zoning rights in the area – but would not mean those living in the area would have to pay town taxes.
Here is how it’s defined on the agenda for the meeting tomorrow:
Public Hearing #2
8. Consideration of the expansion of the Town of Burgaw Extraterritorial Zoning Jurisdiction(ETJ) to up to 2 miles beyond the Town of Burgaw Corporate Limits. Pursuant to local legislation granted by the North Carolina General Assembly on July 29, 2009, the Town of Burgaw is proposing to expand the ETJ boundary in several areas adjacent to the Corporate Limits of the Town of Burgaw. 9. Ordinance 2010-04 Extending Town of Burgaw Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Up to Two Miles
Public Hearing #3
10. Consideration of amending the Town of Burgaw’s zoning map. The proposed changes provide for the initial zoning classification for the areas included in the proposed Extraterritorial Zoning Jurisdiction (ETJ) as well as other zoning amendments throughout several other areas of town that are necessitated by the ETJ expansion.
