Toys for Tots preps for distribution

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — They’ve been collecting all season and now volunteers are prepping for toy distribution days at the Salvation Army Distribution Center.

Beginning tomorrow, families who applied with the Salvation Army will be able to go to the center and pick out toys and clothing for their Children.

The center currently hold more than 19,000 toys, nearly 850 bicycles and plenty of volunteers to sort and organize the toys.

Toys for Tots coordinator Al Gombs said all the season’s hard work pays off when it’s time to distribute the toys.

“Being a former Marine and to see the work they do in conjunction with the Salvation Army is just a thrill to be part of,” Gombs said.

Distribution starts tomorrow and ends Saturday.
