Traffic Alert: Portion of River Road closed until further notice

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — River Road between Raleigh Street and Sunnyvale Drive in Wilmington will remain closed until further notice.

According to a release from the city, the closure is so crews can investigate and make emergency repairs to a failed culvert under the road.

The city says crews are working on the problem but there is no timetable for when the road will reopen. The city will have another update tomorrow.
