Hampstead development gets green light
HAMPSTEAD, NC (StarNewsOnline) — On Monday, the Pender Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a conditional rezoning – from Residential Performance (RP) to Residential Mixed, Conditional Zoning (RM-CD) — of a 121-acre tract between Forest Sound Road and Factory Road near Hampstead. A total of 106 single-family detached homes are being proposed for the site.
The approval is not without critics. Traffic is problematic in Hampstead and perhaps at its most challenging here, where both Forest Sound and Factory meet U.S. 17. But several of the commissioners were effusive in their praise of developer/builder Grey Bull Property.
