Traffic shifts onto new bridges

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The latest phase of the Causeway Project is now open. Traffic has shifted in Brunswick County.

Drivers are now going over the new bridge. Crews closed the old one to prepare it for demolition.

The Causeway Project is set to be completed by next year, however DOT officials said drivers will likely not see much change to traffic until the Wilmington Bypass is completed in 2017.
