Treasurer accused of embezzling nearly $2,000 from youth soccer team
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Burgaw woman is accused of embezzling money from a youth soccer team.
Representatives from the Pender Youth Soccer Association reported possible embezzlement on the organizations financial account to the Burgaw Police Department.
According to a news release, it was discovered that Patriscia Morgan, 34, the treasurer of the Association was embezzling money from Dec. 2013 until Dec. 2014 after an investigation.
Morgan was arrested Friday and charged with 13 counts of embezzlement and 13 counts of obtaining property by false pretense, nearly $2,0000 altogether.
