Tree Fest 2009

Several local organizations came together to put on Tree Fest 2009 in an effort to have more trees in our community.

Tree fest is an attempt to replace trees that have been destroyed during construction and during hurricanes. Trees are being given away at Independence Mall; each person can pick up five trees.

There are dozens of types of trees to choose from, and no ID is required for pick up.

Tree Fest will last until 7:00 Friday night, and will be open again Saturday from 10 to 6. The trees are given away on a first come first serve basis, and donations are welcome.
