Trevon Brown update; former New Hanover Wildcat trying to get back on field for ECU
GREENVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Former New Hanover Wildcat Trevon Brown hasn’t seen any game action for the East Carolina Pirates since a knee injury two months ago. Brown had to miss the last five games for ECU. According to East Carolina head coach Ruffin McNeill the Wilmington wide receiver is anxious to get back on the field. “We are working him in functionally right now,” McNeill said on Thursday. “He is raring to go. We have to put the reins on that boy because he’s ready to go. He began doing functional exercises with Coach Connors yesterday. Hopefully we will work him in, and maybe by this weekend, we will be able to give him some work. we have had guys step up in Trevon’s absence, but adding Trevon back, it gives Shane (Carden), Lincoln (Riley) and our offense another weapon. He is a great kid. I love that boy.”
Trevon Brown scored four touchdowns for East Carolina prior to his knee injury. East Carolina will face the Florida Gators in the Birmingham Bowl on January 3.
