Troopers release identity of pedestrian killed in Pender County

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Highway Patrol says a man was hit and killed on HWY 421 in Currie.

According to state troopers, it happened just before 6:00 a.m. on Sidney Lane.

Investigators say Cory Chavis, 31, was hit when he walked into the path of a car driven by Terrell Hayes.

Troopers are still investigating.
