BUIES CREEK, NC (UNCW) — For the second time in as many outings, UNCW upended a nationally-ranked squad as Colin Bonner notched the game’s lone goal to lead the Seahawks past #25 Campbell, 1-0, on Tuesday at the Eakes Athletics Complex.

The Seahawks raised their record to 4-1-1 on the young season while the Camels dipped to 3-1-0 with their first loss of the season. UNCW is 3-0 on the road and 2-0 against nationally-ranked opponents.

WILLIAMSBURG, VA (UNCW) — Junior Annette Lyche shot an even par 72 to finish third individually and UNCW carded the lowest round of the final day to wind up fourth overall Tuesday at the William & Mary Women’s Golf Invitational at Kingsmill Resort.

The Seahawks entered Tuesday’s final round in a tie for sixth place, but found their stride in posting the lowest round among the 13 teams on the Par 72, 5,600-yard course near Colonial Williamsburg.

“I’m very pleased with how our team competed today to end the tournament,” said Cindy Ho, UNCW’s veteran head coach. “It was a great team effort. Everyone played extremely well, so it was positive to finish strong.

“I was really proud of Annette since she had her best collegiate finish. While her ball striking was slightly off in the final round, she found a way to score. We have a lot to build on going forward this semester.”

New CAA member Elon led wire-to-wire to close with a 19-over-par 300-285-298=883 score and capture first place, beating runner-up Morehead State (307-297-300=904) by 21 strokes. Seton Hall (314-300-291=905) ended up in third ahead of the Seahawks.
