Two armed robberies reported Thursday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are looking for suspects in two armed robberies.
Police said the first incident was reported Thursday night before 5:15 p.m. at the Hampton Inn on 17th Street. A cab driver told police he was taking two teenage black males to the hotel and when they arrived, one of the suspects put something to his head and demanded cash. Police said the driver kept driving in the parking lot and the suspects ended up jumping out of a car window. Nothing was taken and the driver wasn’t hurt.
The second robbery was reported just before 10:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Randall Parkway. Police said a man told them he was outside his apartment when he was approached by two black males in their twenties. Police said one robber showed the victim a gun in his waistband, took his hoverboard and wallet then left the scene on foot. The victim described one of the men as six feet tall, dark skin with short hair wearing a black hoodie with dark jeans. The jeans also had some paint on them. The second suspect was described as about 5’10”, lighter-skinned with short hair and tattoos on this face. The victim said that man was wearing a tan hoodie and dark jeans.
Anyone with information on either crime is asked to call Wilmington Police.
